summer course street photography

One of the most particular characteristics of photography as a medium is that each photo captures a unique moment in time and space, which makes it an historic document, be it personal and unasuming.

Taking inspiration from the work of the likes of Henri Cartier-Bresson, Lee Friedlander, Martin Parr and Vivian Maier, we discuss the best camera settings before venturing out on the streets to capture striking moments and scenes. Results are discussed at the start of every next session.

Teacher Peter Dammers is himself a passionate street photographer who will rarely leave his flat without his camera. And when he does, he feels deprived. See "Peter's Picture Talk", a series (37 episodes) on the school's Facebook page for a sample of his work, with his comments.

The sessions are scheduled on 4 days from 10-15hrs (no session on Wednesday), in the week of August 21. The price is 325 euro.
