summer course painting

In this summer course you can immerse yourself in a sea of floating colours: gently blending, transparently overlapping shimmering layers that evoke flaming skies and blooming fields, or opaque, fiercely contrasting expressive brush strokes or daubs that define or simply stir the senses.

Attention will be paid to choosing and handling materials (brushes, mediums etc) and different paints, to colour mixing and colour theory, and to workflows and techniques. The concluding project will be a portrait from a live model.

After the first introductory session you are expected to bring your own brushes, palette, mediums and canvases. Models, easels, small tables and drawing boards and papers are provided by the school.

The sessions are scheduled on all 5 week days from 10-15hrs (except for Wednesday 10-13), of the week of August 20. The school will cater lunches and on Friday afternoon there will be a merry alcoholic conclusion. The course fee is 375 euros. The studio allows for a maximum of 4 students.
